The Yulong Guo A echoes features the latest new design with solid Padauk back and sides. It is manufactured by the well-known Aiersi Guitars in collaboration with the world famous acclaimed Chinese luthier, Yulong Guo. Yulong Guo has over 40 years of experience and in 2018 was awarded the 2nd prize at the Granada guitar building competition.
The soundboard is a double top construction with thin layers either of Spruce-Normex-Spruce or Cedar-Normex-Cedar and made with the finest choice of master grade tone woods. This provides a great amount stiffness and strength to the soundboard that is needed in order to make a guitar responsive but with lighter weight and can therefore be braced relatively lightly.
This is probably the most affordable double top but with no compromise in tone and workmanship. The guitar is constructed with a fan brace that provides great dynamics and a nice tonal palette similar to a traditional guitar, but with a double top soundboard.
Some of the features that standout about this guitar is its stunning headstock design that immediately catches one’s attention, the elevated fretboard that eases playability in the higher register and 12-hole tie block at the bridge. The beautiful machine heads are Der Jung’s 1:18 gear ratio with separate tunning posts. They are indeed very accurate and smooth in their functionality. The guitar also features a traditional beautiful rosette.
The guitar tone has a traditional sound with a warm tone due to the double top. The basses and trebles are punchy with a quick response but mellow in their timbre. Moreover, this guitar offers a good projection and note separation.
